Just a couple weeks ago, Matthew finally got new bedroom furniture. No more toddler bed for him. Now he's in a big-boy bed. For the first couple days he had to go check on it each time he entered the house. "I have to go check on my big-boy bed," he'd say as soon as we walked in the door. I think it's a hit.
And, of course, he had to pose naked on the bed. Oh well, it's good collateral for later in life.

They are so cute when they're still
I have to say, the boys are great together. They get along, they play well, and we rarely have fights or even arguments. It's just rare that they sit still. Ever.

A Big Boy Bed
Liz and I (well, mostly me) have been contemplating converting Matthew's bed for some time, but we were convinced that Andrew hadn't moved until he was closer to three. Regardless, I decided the other day just to do it. After I did so, I looked on the blog and found out that Andrew was in a toddler bed before he was two. Oh, well, one more thing for Matthew to complain to his therapist about.

'Tis a sad, sad day
Tonight Andrew told us that he didn't want to sleep with Hoppy Kangaroo. Liz put Hoppy in bed anyway and, after she turned around to leave, Andrew put him back on the floor next to the bed. This is the very first night since before he was 1 year old that Andrew has not slept with Hoppy.

The dreams of a 4-Year-Old
A couple times in recent evenings, Andrew has woken up and opened his door to talk to us.
On Sunday night Liz went in and he said, "I don't like ... I don't like ... I don't like ... I don't like ... dust spots."
Huh?
Liz gently returned him to bed and blew over his head to reassure him that he needn't worry about dust spots.
Tonight he woke up again and I got to him first. He told me, "I don't like ... um ... um ... uh ... the paint."
Huh?
I put him back in bed and told him that he didn't need to worry about paint. What a fervent dreamworld.

Hooray for me!
I just finished putting Matthew down for bed. This may not seem like a big deal, but, since Liz weaned him from the breast over the weekend, this is the first time I have been able to put him to bed. She has been in charge of that every night for the last 359.
It went really smoothly; a bottle, a book, and out like a light.

Andrew reading to Matthew
Last week when Liz was getting the kids ready for school she placed Matthew in Andrew's bed for a few minutes while she went to get something. Andrew was supposed to be getting dressed, but when Liz returned, she found that he had crawled into bed with Matthew and was reading "Best Friend Ever" to him. How very cute.(c) 2008 Scott Everett

The much vaunted Big-Boy Room (or, Little Boy, Big Bed Redux)
We finally got him into his big-boy room about a week ago. He loves it! Still calls it his "big-boy room." He seems to have completely forgotten about his other bedroom.

Edit (12/28):
I think this retouch shows the colors of his bedroom a little better:

His office-bed
We finally started painting Andrew's new bedroom (translation: I've been evicted from my office). It desperately needs to be painted. We enlisted the help of a professional painter to do the job; I'm not sure if he has any experience in painting walls, but he seems to be an expert on many different media, including paper, sandpaper, and bathtubs. (Oh yeah, he still calls it his "office-bed").

Jamma - Jamma - Jamma - PJ
So I didn't get to take any new pictures of his Halloween costume. It was bath night, I'll get some more later.
He had to get new jammies the other day when the weather finally broke. We dropped from the mid-nineties and are now all the way down to the mid-eighties. It did actually get kind of cool for a few hours, so we had to buy some long-sleeve jammies. As soon as he put them on, he just started sprinting around the house. To this day he still gets excited when we put on his dinosaur jammies.

Still jumping on the bed
I knew I had some better shots on the other memory card.
We told him that we were going to move him into the office when he graduates to a "big boy bed." He now calls this room his, "big boy bedroom office."
