Whoopsie!

Beware of having too many of the same type of image on your computer. Yesterday's post was not of Matthew's first attempt at feeding the ducks. It was a photo of the generation of the idea to teach him to feed the ducks. That was just a normal day at the park from late July.

Here are two photos from Matthew's duck-feeding foray. Looks more like the real-deal, no? I didn't get to take many photos since I was busy trying to convince the fowl that they really need to eat the lettuce. No, really, they should have eaten the lettuce.

Matthew's first duck feeding trip (take 1)

Yesterday, Andrew was stoked to show Matthew how to feed the ducks at the park. Based on information given to us from someone who used to work at the Cameron Park Zoo, we took along some lettuce for them instead of the usual bread. Much like their human counterparts, these ducks were completely disinterested in healthy snacks and unabashedly ignored both kids tossing lettuce their way.

Andrew was pretty upset. Matthew didn't care. He had no idea what was going on anyway. We tried again today with much more success (and bread).

Pics of ducks

Andrew has a pair of binoculars that he got from the local bird store. The guy just gave them to him, how cool is that? It must be nice to be one of the pretty people. Anyway, he likes to "take pictures" with the binocs. He especially likes to take pictures of birds (cardinals, grackles, ducks, ...)

Sure, he thinks he took this picture. It just perpetuates the amusement.

We couldn't find the ducks at first

After a frantic search, we finally found some ducks to feed. We barely missed a meltdown, but hey, how much more fun can you have for only 60¢?

Feeding ducks at the park has to be the most fun you could possibly have for $0.60.

Incidentally, on this trip to the park on Monday, he posed his first real inquiry. He looked at me with all earnest in his eyes and asked, "Daddy, ... do ducks have teeth?"
