We asked Andrew what his favorite part of camping was

The top 2 are included here. I'll leave you to guess which they were.

Matthew's first camping trip

We took the kids camping this weekend. This was pretty much a dry run, so we only spent Saturday night out at the campsite just so we could see how they fared. I don't know why we worried about it. We should have known that it was going to go well. Andrew's been before and loved it and Matthew just loves to be outside.

We did find out some things, though. The dog doesn't care about anything else when we are doing something; as soon as he's left alone when another dog is around, he becomes dominant/non-aggressive. He's an odd creature.

We also found out that Andrew has gotten much less shy recently. I wasn't there when they got to the campsite, but by the time I did, he had become good friends with another 5 or 6 year old camping with us.

And finally, we confirmed that Matthew has absolutely no control over his own legs. Apparently, as soon as he wakes up and is vertical, they start moving and don't stop until he lays down to sleep. That child walked around the campsite constantly. He had a blast and found any number of things to play with, but he never stopped. At least he can sleep just about anywhere, too.

We are hoping to camp more next year, so we'll have to try a couple days out there soon.

Indoor picnic time!

Now, if I could get them both to eat at the same time...

Matthew can use a cup and utensils now.

Sometimes he opts to use them at the same time.

Andrew's been sick for a couple days

How does he choose the most inconvenient days to get sick?

Wow! It's been a while.

Things have been a little hectic around here with the Arts Fest and everything else going on. I apologize for the lack of posts recently, but I have been exhausted. Until tonight, I haven't even fired the shutter on my camera for at least a week and haven't processed an image in longer than that. I might be out of practice already!

Just to make sure I had something to post, I took these super-quick photos of Andrew while he was in the dining room. He wasn't too thrilled with me, I was taking him away from TV time. It only took a minute, though.

I still don't get it

Even after two little boys, I still don't understand the allure of mulch on stairs or mulch on slides or mulch on hair. How much fun could it possibly be?

Matthew enjoyed the kindergarten kick-off, too

Although, he may have been too cool for the park.

Kindergarten Kick-Off

The week that school started, the PTA (I think) hosted a kindergarten kick-off party at the spray park right behind the school. It was about 95 degrees outside when we got there, but Andrew still insisted that he was cold. Freakin' Texans...

He's a graduate

On his last day in Room A (12-18 month olds), Matthew's teacher made them each a paper mortarboard and mock diploma. I'm going to miss Ms. Maria, she was such a sweetheart and great with the kids.

Too bad he wouldn't stop running around the house long enough for me to get a good photo.

We wish her all the luck in the world while she's out on maternity leave, too.

I don't even remember why he was crying

All I remember is that it wasn't worth the effort to generate the tears.
