We had to mention this!
Liz had to write a note to Andrew's teacher this morning. Yesterday we had run out of milk fir his lunch and he had to buy some from the school. This was the first time he's had to purchase anything for lunch.
He decided that he wanted chocolate milk. Sadly, he wasn't able to finish all of it at lunchtime. Somewhere in his 5 year old mind resides something resembling frugality. Maybe it's because we recycle, maybe it's because we emphasize reduction, regardless of the reason, he didn't want to waste his leftover milk.
Did you know that those rectangular lunchboxes are not watertight? Did you know that milk gets really sticky when it's close to drying? Did you know that homework tears when separated after being soaked in milk?
I have no idea why he thought that he could take a milk carton home, but I think he's learned his lesson.
