Matthew in the living room

I seem to have a lot of these photos floating around here. It really looks like he's going to skip crawling altogether since he is now pulling himself up onto anything within reach; the couch, the kitchen chair, the clothes basket.

He found this plug the other day and thinks it's a really cool toy. He's not interested in using this one to sleep, but just to play with.

Last week we saw some trains

The local Children's Museum has a model train exhibit right now. Talk about heaven for a little boy.

Christmas cookies

Wow! Christmas cookies have almost become painful in our house. I never knew it could take that much time to decorate just one cookie! It's a good thing Matthew was here to keep the turtle, the weeble, and the shoe from disrupting the experience.

Surprisingly, Matthew had the blue ball

He nearly always goes after the purple one. He has the same affinity for purple that Andrew showed for red at that age.

And, yes, he loves the Hallmark animated toys. Yippee.

Andrew's recent recital

Last week Andrew had a Christmas performance at day care. All week leading up to it we asked him what his class would be singing and he gave us a surprisingly adolescent response.

"I don't know."

Come to find out, he did know and loves the song "I Want A Hippopotamus For Christmas." He's really cute when he sings, "Hippopotamuses like me toooo." Word on the street has it that Santa might bring him a hippo this year.

This child is obsessed with his jacket. He wears it all over the place and we were lucky that he didn't have the hood pulled up for the concert.

After all of the students sang the opening number, they broke out into classes. I caught Andrew's class as they were leaving the sanctuary and confiscated his jacket.

Uncle Bill made it!

Where's Waldo?
